Kip's Biography
Kip Teitsort is the founder of the DT4EMS™ course
and started his EMS career in 1990. He became an EMT in Winter
Haven, Florida and obtained his Paramedic Certification in Margate,
Florida in 1992. During this time Kip obtained AHA CPR Instructor
Certification and taught numerous courses. Kip worked on primary
first response ALS ambulances in south Florida until 1994 when he
relocated to Missouri.
In January of 1995, Kip became a full-time police officer and
also continued to work full time hours on an ambulance. In 1996 Kip
attended the Instructor/Coordinator Workshop required to teach EMS
in Missouri and also in the same year created DT4EMS™. In 1997 Kip
became the certified ASP Expandable Baton Instructor for his police
department and the first DT4EMS™ course was taught for CEU’s in
Missouri. After the first course Kip was contacted by IHM Health
Studies Center in St. Louis where he taught as a “Guest Instructor”
for Behavioral Emergencies during Paramedic Core Curriculum. Kip
then went on to teach Paramedic Refresher for IHM. DT4EMS™ was then
expanded to teach ER personnel, ambulance and even nursing home
staff.
In 1998 Kip became a DARE Officer and taught numerous courses to
school aged children. Kip obtained his certification as a Defensive
Tactics Instructor for Law Enforcement and began teaching numerous
officers throughout the state of Missouri. During this time Kip was
also an assistant instructor under Dan Chadd at the United States
All-Style Karate Instructors Association. Kip has obtained the level
of 3rd Degree Black Belt under Dan Chadd. Kip also trains in Kali-Silat
under Master Jason Heriford and MasGuru P. Greg Alland.
In 1999 Kip opened his first martial arts school in Bourbon,
Missouri where it is still in operation today, run by one of his
former students who is also a police officer. Since 1990 Kip has
attended numerous instructor courses in an attempt to bring his
students the very best training available. One of the more recent
courses was the Tactical Folding Knife Instructor (for Law
Enforcement). Kip currently travels and teaches the DT4EMS™ course to
EMS providers and teaches as a certified instructor for the Missouri
Sheriff’s Training Academy as well as being the Lead Instructor of
the American Hybrid Combat Karate School.
In January of 2006 Kip became a full time EMS educator training EMT's paramedics, nurses and other hospital staff in numerous courses
including ACLS, PALS, PHTLS, Basic Cardiac Dysrhythmia, DT4EMS™, 12 Lead Interpretation,
EMT, CPI and Paramedic Core Curriculum and at Ozarks Medical
Center in West Plains MO.
